“It’s often said that people can’t change. This is a myth. Any one is capable of change if they are ready for change

My Approach to Coaching

Having been coached myself, my approach is a tried and tested one that I know works.

Most people have goals they want to achieve or challenges they want to resolve in their lives.

Often people struggle finding the solutions or answers to these things as they are too stuck within the problem themselves.

This is where I come in.

My job as your coach is to help you access the answers by using a number of coaching techniques to help you achieve your goals.

My approach is to work with you, not just tell you what you need to do. You are your best authority on your own experiences and we will use this to help you progress.

By actively listening and questioning you, I can provide something that has been proven to be very effective in helping people go through change. I’m a big believer in really listening to what you say and the words that you use as this will provide me with clues on how to help you.

I will give you perspective and provide you with the tools to change or achieve your goals.

I will provide a safe and confidential space, free of any judgement.

Whatever your needs are, I can help you move from where you are today, to where you want to be in the future.

I am able to coach anyone, and have a particular interest in coaching people aged in their 30s and 40s because I think it is at these ages where we feel we would perhaps like a change in the direction of our lives.

Coaching isn’t a silver bullet.

The key to it is that you need to be ready to change and to put the work in!

The Coaching Structure

We have an initial 30min discovery coaching session which is free of charge (book here). I will get you to explain your situation and why you have contacted me. This is an opportunity for you to decide if you want to work with me as your coach and for me to ensure that I can offer you the service you require.

We will then agree a coaching contract – this forms the confidentiality and trust between us. It will also include a schedule of our sessions, the cost and type of service I will provide to you.

Together we will use different strategies to support your thinking, create an action plan with short and long term goals, and timeframes to help keep you on track and focussed.

I will get you to try new things, think in different ways, and change the way you behave in certain situations.

You will follow this plan and when appropriate, make changes to redirect your action plan accordingly.

At the end of each session I will ask you to reflect on your journey so far. Reflection is a key component of coaching as it promotes self-awareness.
